Terms & Conditions of The Global Model United Nations (MUN) Online Conferences Worldwide

Effective Date: January 1, 2023

1. Introduction:

The following Terms & Conditions govern the enrollment and participation in The Global Model United Nations (MUN) Online Conferences Worldwide (“The Global MUN” or “we”). By enrolling in any of our online programs, participants agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions. The Terms & Conditions also include our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect and use personal data. Participants indicate their acceptance of these Terms & Conditions by checking the designated checkbox during the enrollment process. The Global MUN may modify these Terms & Conditions at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon public posting.

II. Enrollment and Participation:

Eligibility:

Participants must be between 13 and 18 years old to enroll in The Global MUN’s online programs.

Enrollment Process:

Enrollment for our online programs is done via our website. Participants or their parents/legal guardians (for minors) must complete the registration process and provide accurate and complete information.

Participant Conduct and Obligations:

Participants are expected to adhere to a respectful and collaborative conduct during their participation in The Global MUN’s online programs. This includes treating others with respect, refraining from discriminatory or offensive behavior, and actively engaging in the virtual learning environment.

Parental/Guardian Consent (for Minors):

For participants who are minors, registration must be completed by their parent or legal guardian, who also grants consent for the minor’s participation in the online programs.

III. Program Details:

Program Description and Duration:

The Global MUN’s online programs typically last for a duration of 2 weeks. Participants will engage in Model United Nations simulations, learn about global issues, and partake in virtual conferences with students from around the world.

Access to Program Materials:

Participants may have access to program materials and content beyond the program’s duration. These may include event recordings, learning materials, study guides, and related resources for educational purposes.

Modification of Program Content:

The Global MUN reserves the right to modify or update the program content during its duration at its sole discretion.

IV. Fees and Payment:

Program Fees and Pricing:

The program fees for each participant are set at a flat rate. Additional costs may apply for optional services or merchandise related to the events.

Payment Methods:

Payment for program enrollment can be made through all credit and debit cards accepted by Stripe and PayPal. Corporate customers and educational institutions may use ACH or wire transfers to bank accounts in Costa Rica, the United States, or the United Kingdom.

Refund Policy:

The Global MUN’s refund policy for online programs is outlined separately. Refunds will be processed in accordance with the policy.

V. Intellectual Property Rights:

Ownership of Program Materials:

The Global MUN owns all intellectual property rights to the program materials and content provided to participants during the online programs.

Prohibited Use of Program Materials:

Participants are prohibited from using the program materials beyond the scope of the online programs. Materials should not be used for other conferences, live or online. They are for individual reference only for educational purposes.

VI. Privacy and Data Protection:

The collection and use of participants’ personal data are governed by our Privacy Policy, which participants should review and accept during the enrollment process. The use of cookies or tracking technologies on our Website is also outlined in the Privacy Policy.

VII. Cancellation and Termination:

Program Cancellation by The Global MUN:

While it is unlikely, The Global MUN may be forced to cancel or postpone an online program due to events of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be notified via email with clear instructions on how to request a refund.

Participant Withdrawal and Refunds:

The Global MUN’s refund policy for online programs is outlined separately. Refunds will be processed in accordance with the policy.

VIII. General Provisions:

Entire Agreement:

These Terms & Conditions, along with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between The Global MUN and participants concerning the online programs.

Severability:

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Waiver:

Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

Assignment:

Participants may not assign or transfer their rights and obligations under these Terms & Conditions without the prior written consent of The Global MUN.

IX. Image Rights Licensing:

  1. By participating in The Global Model United Nations (MUN) Online Conferences Worldwide (“The Global MUN”) events, participants grant The Global MUN and its affiliates a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, and transferable license to use their image, likeness, name, voice, and biographical information (“Image Rights”) in any form of media, marketing material, promotional content, and public presentations, including but not limited to the Website, social media platforms, brochures, advertisements, and press releases.
  2. Participants understand and agree that The Global MUN may use their Image Rights for the purposes of promoting and publicizing the online programs, events, and activities organized by The Global MUN. This license is granted without any claim for payment, compensation, or consideration, and participants waive any rights to inspect or approve the final materials or content featuring their Image Rights.
  3. Participants acknowledge and agree that The Global MUN shall be the sole owner of any and all media in which their Image Rights are captured, recorded, or featured, and that The Global MUN has the right to edit, modify, adapt, or combine the media as it deems appropriate.
  4. Participants agree that The Global MUN may use their Image Rights indefinitely, including after their participation in the online programs, without any time limitations, and without requiring any further consent or permission.
  5. Participants further acknowledge that The Global MUN may sublicense the Image Rights to third parties for the purpose of promoting The Global MUN’s online programs and activities.
  6. The Global MUN shall use reasonable efforts to respect participants’ privacy and ensure that their Image Rights are used in a manner consistent with the context in which they were captured or recorded. However, participants understand and agree that The Global MUN shall not be liable for any unauthorized use of their Image Rights by third parties who access or view the media.
