Welcome to the International Challenge 2023 at The Global MUN!
Our International Challenge is the moment for you to express yourself and share ideas about different topics on the global stage.
This year, our topic aims to hand the microphone to you, the students, in the discussion for improvements in global education.
As you know, education is constantly evolving, and with the rise of technology and new teaching techniques, traditional education methodologies may no longer be effective.
In order to explore this topic further, we have designed a one-of-a-kind experience, that will require nothing less but your A-game.
To begin, your task is to research the past and present state of the education system to determine what works, what doesn’t, and how different stakeholders currently experience it.
You may use the following questions to aid your research:
What should change about the current methodologies of in-school education?
What should be kept about the current methodologies of in-school education?
What kind of activities actively enhance your learning experience?
How do you envision the schools of the future?
What does the class experience look like?
Will we always continue to experience school live? Or would a virtual methodology be the new normal? Perhaps a hybrid experience?
What do you believe is effective for the current education system?
What do you believe is ineffective for the current education system?
Pro Tip: Make sure to document responses and ideas, as this information will become crucial during the next stage.
Ensure you ask these sorts of questions to your teachers, parents, and fellow classmates to understand a variety of perspectives.
Once you have completed the research stage, it’s time to get hands-on with the final stage of this challenge.
Create an infographic within this slide that visually represents the top three changes YOU would make to the current education system. Support why you believe these to be much more effective and make sure:
No multiple slides, everything must fit in ONE.
No group participation is allowed. Every delegate must create and submit 1 slide.
Make it visually engaging; avoid too much text.
You will have 90 seconds to explain your slide to your peers during our event.
Limit proposed ideas to your top 3.
Create an infographic within this slide that visually represents the top three changes YOU would make to the current education system. Support why you believe these to be much more effective.
During our International Challenge Event on May 26th, you will have the opportunity to discuss your suggestions and engage in a group discussion about the current state of education.
This will not only allow you to put your opinions and insights on the global stage, but it will also expose them to a diverse range of perspectives and ideas.
